Tsuann Kuo is a gerontologist and a non-profit consultant specializing in health and human services and volunteer management. She has taught at UCLA and guest lectured in several universities in the United States and Taiwan. Tsuann sits on the board of the Beverly Hills Symphony, California Parks and Recreation Society-Aging Section, KCET Community Advisors, Alzheimer Association Policy Forum, TUF (formerly known as the Taiwanese United Fund) and Taiwan Center of Los Angeles as well as co-coordinates NATWA II (2nd-generational division of the North America Taiwanese Women's Association). Tsuann's community works in educating and helping API communities have won her several honors and awards, including being selected as the California Delegate to the 2005 White House Conference on Aging, receiving the "Best of the Best" Community Service Award for the Beverly Hills Volunteer Program given by the California Parks and Recreation Society, and featured as the "2006 Local Hero of the Year" by KCET, and "Our Role Model" by LA18 TV Station. She was TAP's 2007 Pioneer in Community Service Award Recipient.

After serving as the Chair of the Greater Los Angeles Taiwanese American Heritage Week Committee in 2002, Tsuann has dedicated her time to promoting Taiwanese Americans and Taiwanese cultures to the non-Taiwanese communities. "Telling our own stories" is an important mission in her professional, academic and voluntary works because she believes the Taiwanese Americans now have a lot to tell and contribute to the world.
